Last night I pulled into the parking lot of Barnes and Noble and was reminded of an event that could have changed my entire life.  It is funny how the event didn't occur but the fact that it almost did haunts me to this day.

Let Your Christmas Money Do Your Political Talking

I have decided to turn away from large corporate conglommerates this Christmas.  Gap, I am so sorry you have been a dear friend.  It is time for a change in America and the mid-sized and mom and pop type businesses need our dollars in order to survive. 

From now until Christmas I am going to feature these types of businesses and products.  This is going to be a fun journey and I bet we are going to find a lot of quality wonderful stuff.  Keep me posted on new businesses and products that you find.

Uncommon Goods, They Even Have Elephant Poo Paper

I got this catalog in the mail for Uncommon Goods and found it to be a pleasant dose of quirky, granola and snark all rolled into one!  Typically I view catalogs that don't say Pottery Barn or Victoria Secret as junk mail and never give them a second glance.  I have now realized the error of my ways and from now on will only take the uncommon path. 

Playcare, it's working out for me mom!

Tim and I were in desperate need of a date night last weekend.  We decided to check out this place called Kiddin Around.  Their niche is hourly childcare and they cater to parents in need of a date night, getting some shopping done, going to a Dr. appointment, etc.  We were a little hesitant about dropping our kids off with strangers and felt like they might be treated like cattle.  Those fears were far from the reality of our experience. 

Never thought I would see this again!
